Each of us has a story to tell. The challenge for writers of nonfiction is to tell our stories in fresh, new ways. It is for this reason that we are asked to stretch the boundaries of what we've been taught, and to seek new answers to age‑old questions. This is why writing nonfiction is often a radical and rebellious act---because we are constantly asked to seek a new logic.
Because of poetry's sensuous and
lyrical effect, the stories that have remained with me are those
that carry a certain cadence.
